For Cloud WAN, 25GBASE-ER is one of popular high bandwidth solution for metro network application. In comparison to 40G/100GBASE, 25GBASE still uses traditional 10GBASE cabling system but provides extra bandwidth and allows the access of more smart devices and applications.

Top-Trans TSFP28-25G-ER Optical Module is designed for 25GBASE-ER, using 1310NM DML transmittors and APD receivers for enough link budget to reach 30km over single mode fiber (OS2 SMF) via dual LC connectors. It operates in the commercial temperature range between 0 to 70 degree celsius. It features SFP28 port to access the interface of 25G switches, routers, interface adapter and servers. It has built in DOM/DDM diagnostic function to monitor the operating status. It is fully compliant with SFP28 MSA, IEEE 802.3 industrial standard.

It depends on the link budget. With FEC, this module can transmit 40KM in the standard OS2 single mode fiber.
