Due to explosive data traffic from HD video and streaming media etc new applications, enterprise cloud transition is more urging on bandwidth for service distribution to interconnect central office, branch office, and Cloud ISP. Traditional 10GBASE WAN is being challenged in the bandwidth and network efficiency. However, the next generation 40G/100GBASE WAN demands a new cabling system of huge CPAX investment. Small to medium enterprises put more of their attention on 25GBASE WAN, offering 2.5 times bandwidth with existing Cabling systems.

TBD-SFP28-LR27/33 is a bidirectional 25G optical module, enabling enterprises to configure 25GBASE WAN by direct connection over a single fiber. It is fully compliant with 25G SFP28 BIDI MSA and CPRI/eCPRI standards, using the 1270/1330NM bidirectional DFB lasers and PIN receivers. It is ideal for the fiber link of 20KM over a simplex OS2 single-mode fiber via LC connectors. Due to bidirectional, it must work in pairs with another module or network equipment of opposite wavelengths. With build-in DDM/DOM functions, this module can monitor operation status and diagnose voltage, bias current, RX power, and TX power.
